Tachus Technologies and its partners can offer legacy device replacements to extend product lifecycles of Microcontrollers, ASICs, Standard Products and FPGAs. This includes true pin-for-pin, code and timing compatible drop-in replacements for the 80C51, the 68HC05, and the 80C186 microcontrollers. We also have a growing line of standard products, such as the 4Mb FPGA Serial Configuration Memories, the 28C94 Quad UART and the 74C3893 Futurebus Transceiver. Finally, we offer the 68HC24 Port Replacement Unit which has been used in hundreds of systems to replace the original Freescale component.
Tachus understands the severe impacts associated with obsolescence and EOL, and therefore, offers the opportunity for clients to consider an ASIC conversion option. An ASIC conversion protects the client from future obsolescence vulnerabilites due to an unsupported process/product or a manufacturer's reluctance to continue production where volumes are no longer financially attractive.
ASIC conversions have been existant for a long time and are therefore a proven process that helps clients attain cost savings. For example, Tachus can convert the FPGA design to an ASIC. Specifically, we can minimize the risk associated with your logic device, reduce your time-to-market, find a suitable alternate for the obsoleted part, and then reduce package size since an ASIC die will be smaller than any logic die. These solutions can ultimately deliver cost reductions in the 70% range per chip produced.
Our designers work from your design files and can generate pin-compatible ASICs that offer lower cost and continuity for your PLM operations.
